I am retired and on a pension but would like advice on how best to deal with driving fot Uber and Taxify without creating extra headaches for my self and for my wife's pension. I have all of the taxi certificates I need and I can use my son's car as mine is too old.
Is it worth proceeding!?

Best bet would be to call Centrelink on 132 300 when they are open to get some clarification.

Cheers

Hi

You need to go and call in at Centrelink and register as a sub-contractor, and you complete a Profit and Loss form, and lodge say every three months. This also allows for deductions, so you can end up showing a loss or minimal net income and this not effect your pension.
The form they use is quite complicated at first, hence the need to discuss in person for first time
Hope this helps.

Example. Just did a $1200 service on car and this is fully deductible.
