Dealing with short trips in the Melbourne CBD
Hi everyone,
How do you guys deal with short trips on base rates in the Melbourne CBD?
Everytime I get a trip into the City, I seem to get stuck doing short trips like less than 2km's.
Lonsdale St to Crown, Crown to Chinatown, etc. Usually base rates for minimum fare and you make a whopping $5 from Uber.
Then you hear of the other driver who picks up a small surge but ends up from Collins Street to Geelong for close to $100!
Cheers,
UberX Driver

Hi mate,
I usually just drop off the PAX and get straight out of the CBD. Lots of time can get wasted on these short fares.
Alternatively you could use one of your destination filters to filter back to where you would rather be driving.
Chances are that you may end up straight back in the city. It's the nature of the beast that is rideshare.
Happy hear of any other alternative ideas.

If I get stuck in the Melbourne CBD now sometimes I will just use up one of my Uber Destination Filters.
I usually set it out east to Ringwood, Glen Waverly or Frankston. It has worked out well for me several times now.

In cbd for uber short trip = total disaster
3 options to take always use at least 1
#1 Call pax + ask destination
#2 Convert to slider $7.50 to you
#3 Destination filter
Accept all trips in cbd means stopping illegal getting parking fines waiting for people before $6 southbank trip!! Rather not spend $150 to make $6 rather just make $100 straight up in long haul to SE suburb!!

I endure any trip because I always take something with me on the road. Now it is a phone with games https://trueblue-casino.net/, which I run right on the road, driving and playing.

In 2018, when you were writing, this was a problem. Now (2023) it's not a problem. Isn't it?Uber X Driver wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2018 11:12 pmHi everyone,

When I tried to get to Cachalot Casino on a client's order, I was 15 minutes late. This is really hard to do during rush hour. And the client is particularly fond of gambling, and plays often here - https://betpokies.com/reviews/cashalot-casino - I haven't tried it. Have you?

G'day mates! Just wanted to share my absolute favorite way to unwind after a long day at work – hitting up the online pokies in Australia! There's nothing like kicking back at home, grabbing a cold one, and letting the reels spin for some serious fun. The variety of pokies available is mind-blowing, and it's the perfect way to relax and escape the daily grind. Check out this awesome site I stumbled upon Payid it's become my go-to spot for the best pokies Down Under!
